Good place to live

My brother has lived in those apartments for the past two and a half years and I've lived here for about 5 months.
I know everyone is concerned about the fires and I am as well but I highly doubt there will be another one. The HVAC units have been checked, theres new vinyl siding (not as flammable as wood), new roofing, etc. The chances of three fires in a short peroid of time is very small, I think they know they'd loose a lot of residents if they let another fire happen.
Noise is not an issue at all even though lots of people have pets, but live on the third floor so I dont know how it is from above. Inside, the apartments are attractive although I wouldnt call it luxury. The kitchen floor is lynolium instead of tile, the counter tops laminate and not granite. There are no hardwood floors but beige carpeting. I have my own microwave since the ones they have built in arent very nice. Regardless, it still looks neat and they clean up well between move ins. My favorite thing about these apartments are the floor plans. They have large living rooms that are open to the kitchen with a cute little breakfast bar, good sized bedrooms and some of the biggest closets I've seen in apartments. Third floor rooms have fireplaces and valuted ceilings that make the space feel more like a house than apartment. They have cute loft apartments too. Another thing I love is that there is washer/dryer in each apartment. A down side is that there isnt much storage space and small 5'x3' or so storage rooms are $40.
The area tends to be a little overpriced in general but paying for being right across from beachwood place, legacy village, Giant eagle, la place, and the highway - it's a convenient place to live. I grew up in Beachwood and its one of the best suburbs on the east side of Cleveland. Aside from all the construction the outside lawns and flowers are kept up well and everything looks nice. There is a new gym which is great, as well as an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub and tennis court.
They have a 2 pet max with $20/mo per pet, 40 lb max on first floor and 30 lb on 2nd and 3rd floors so you'll see a lot people walking their pets. I haven't noticed poo so I guess people clean up after their pets. As far as garbage, you can take it outside yourself, or theres a $20 monthly service where they pick it up for you. The elevators work most of the time but can be slow when people are moving in/out, although not too much of an issue since these are small buildings. For parking, you can pay $40 a month for a heated garage space, it would be nice in the winter but I feel it's overpriced so I park my car outside for free. I have had a few issues and maintenance has always responded quickly to the easy to fix things, but theres one issue that they just wont fix no matter how much I call and they said they'd fix it when I was signing the lease. So maintenance is questionable. I've never met the manager but the people in the leasing/management office are nice. They have guards walk through the complex every hour or few hours but honestly I'm not sure if this actually helps safety or not.
To sum it up - The area is clean and safe, the apartments are pretty nice with great layouts, everything is being renovated, and it's a relatively reasonable price for the area. If you dont want to go downtown, the four seasons and easthaven are nicest apartments in Cleveland. The four seasons is fantastic but over priced, so I plan to live here for a long time and want to upgrade my apartment next lease.

Forest City owned during the second fire. Village Green Ent. owned it during the first. Also, there is a 100 pound limit for the first floor. It changed when FCE took over. We have a 100 lb lab and live on the first floor. I'd be interested to see what you think once you move in. I'm glad your bro hasn't needed anything fixed because it probably won't happen. Everyone is great until you have an issue. They haven't allowed christmas trees or grills for well over a year and the second fire still occured. Also, my car has been broken in to twice. When management was notified they said there was nothing they could do to notify other tenants. Check your fire hydrants in the winter, they cover them up. People let their dogs poo in the hallways because they can't get out the door in the snow.

Hello Everyone,
Remember that The Atrium is also in the Village, check out the ratings on this community. I've lived here for 5 years, the staff, community and quality construction is over the top and worth the few extra dollars. Also, we have a "split" floor plan which permits me and my roommate to live in quality at a great value.
