Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
After two years here, I have no reason to leave. Managment is always quick to fix any problem, such as burnt-out light bulbs, faulty thermostats, hot water heaters with pilot light problems, and they make the people who don't know how to clean up after their dogs pay fines, which really rocks, imo, because if you got a dog, be ready for that sucker to poop. I know. I had two.
I've seen a few bugs. Mostly happens when someone moves in or out beside me. I don't like them, but it's so rare an occurrence for me. I keep my place clean and once or twice a year, give it a good spray with OTC bug killer. I use a different kind each time, one with a different method of working so they don't get immune to it. I've never lived in a place that didn't have some kind of insect intrude from time to time, so not sure what some of the haterz are trying to prove.
I work with the maintenance staff in finding any leaking window or door areas, and they caulk or seal.
As for payments, I don't pay any fees for any of my payments. My rent comes out of my bank account electronically; my water is paid by credit card with no fee; my other bills come out of my bank electronically. No fees. Easy.
