I find it a shame that I have to write such a poor review, but I feel that I should let decent people know about the sham of an apartment complex that Columbus Park Apartments is. This management company does not have a clue about keeping a clean complex and building. I have to tell you that there is always trash, blunt wrappers, food, used condoms and condom wrappers in the hallways, the stairs and also in the laundry rooms. I also have to tell you that when you walk into the lobby you will meet the smell of rotten food, dirty cleaning water or Marijuana, so make sure you are prepared. There are now dumpsters outside in the rear of our building where there is a light that sometimes is on and sometimes is off. The dumpsters are always overflowing with trash, which will surely bring along the nasty critters very soon. Even the two town meetings at the Mayor's office this year have not accomplished anything at Columbus Part Apartments.
Almost every other week, we wake up to absolutely NO HOT WATER!!! This has been happening ever since we moved in a year ago. Management says they are waiting for a part to come in! I guess they are waiting for it to be invented b/c this is still a constant problem at Columbus Park Apartments. There is constant "drug activity" ALL OVER the building, day and night. There are always numerous children running up and down the halls and if you are not careful, you could easily hit about ten of them that are always blocking the parking lots.
Let me not forget their "rent a cop" security men who are always scooting around the complex like stalkers. They spend more time trying to get women than keeping the complex in order.
The people who work in the office must not have ever taken a course in customer service. They are rude, unhelpful, and quite ignorant when they talk to you regarding YOUR PLACE and why you are not satisfied with the conditions there.
Overall, if you can live somewhere else, I suggest you do. The only way this management company is going to raise above the ignorant and irresponsible way that they operate, is to feel it in their pockets.

Don't feel ashamed - you are helping other people not to make the same mistake of moving there. I left - and I'm glad! I miss my apartment and Bedford in general - but that only - not the complex, the ghetto stuff, the office people, etc.

This place has gone down hill so fast and you can thank the slum lords at Karem for that. I was here when the previous owner was here and the place was one of the best places to live in the burbs, then the darkness of Karem took over. Karem must be letting section-8 folks in along with anyone who has a pulse and $5 in their pocket. There's trash everywhere, in the stairwells, the parking lots, hallways, people loitering at all times of the day and night, door locks busted from people trying to break in, dark parking lots, abandoned cars, broken washers & dryers, holes in the walls in the common places, maintenence people who don't showup when called, a management staff that could care less because they don't live onsite and Karem replaces the entire staff every couple of months so that there is no continuity between them and the tenents...same goes for the maintenence staff. There has been 2 car jackings in the last few months because so many lights are out in the parking lots. The tenents have submitted their requests for repairs on numerous occasions to management and the city and pretty much nothing has been done. Most people around here don't seem to care about the conditions they live in, it's like they moved from on housing project to another so this place is par for the course with them and that's just the kind of people Karem has allowed and promotes to move in here. I wouldn't advise or recommend ANYONE move to this place unless you enjoy ghetto living with like minded idiots and an owner and staff who could care less as long as the rent is ontime. I can't wait to get the heck out of here...rent at your own risk.
