Getting Worse...

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
We have lived in Rockside Park Towers for over two years now, and when we first moved in, things were good. Although, my car was broken into within the first two weeks of living here.
The maintenance staff was excellent when we moved in and would respond within hours of your call, now it takes days for them to call you back and weeks to fix anything. When we switched apartments last Feb. our dishwasher was broken and it took them over 6 weeks to finally get us a new one.
The overall building is quite nice and elegant looking. However, there have been numerous incidences of vandalism where wallpaper has been ripped off the hallway walls and lights are busted out in the hallways.
You have to watch your laundry in the laundry room. If you are not there right as they are finished, someone will come in and take them out and dump them on the floor. Makes doing laundry a waste of time and money (considering they raised the price of laundry from $1.00 wash/$.25 per 10 min in dryer to $1.25 wash/$.25 per 8 min in the dryer).
It also seems that they have become more relaxed with the applications. When we moved in it was a strict 21 and over unless someone on the lease was over 21. Recently, I met a person who was barely 20 and whos roomate was 19. Also, we had a 19 year old guy throw a beer bottle off his balcony on the 6th floor and hit the hood of my car, causing $350 in damage, and the building was like "oh well." It's like it's not their problem or something.
The apartment in general is very noisy. If not people yelling in the parking lots at 3 a.m., it's people running and yelling up and down the halls at all hours of the night, or people above/below/beside you being loud. I swear the people that live above us move their furniture every night around 2 a.m. because everything in my apartment shakes and all I can hear is banging and pounding.
The unattended children in the building become a problem especially in the morning. The bus stop is in the back parking lot, and there are kids running everywhere. It literally takes me 15 minutes to get out of the parking lot in the morning because I'm dodging kids.
All-in-all, the building physically isn't too bad. the apartments are clean when you move in and are in good condition. They are a bit pricy for what you are getting though. Two years ago when we moved in, I would have told you it was a great place to live. Now, we can't get out of there fast enough.
Good Luck! AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt
