Disappointing for the money

Although the model unit and the apartment manager's unit were beautiful my move-in unit was a disappointment. The unit was not cleaned prior to my move-in with plaster dust, cob webs and other signs that a cleaning crew hadn't been through after the work crew was done. The basement wasn't painted though it should have been once the previous tenets moved out. The paint used thoughout the unit is the inexpensive powdery paint commonly used in rentals that is hard to clean and comes off easily. Our unit has stick-down tiles, several of which have started to peel. In certain areas of the townhome (basement, bathroom) I can clearly hear my neighbors. I feel like I have been bait-and-switched. The pool has been closed for repainting/repairs for a couple of weeks while the weather has been perfect for swimming. The rental comes with access to a workout room, I waited over a month to get a key to the door. The grounds are regularly mowed and generaly look nice. Unfortunately management has deceided to not mulch the flower beds, the back of the units off the patios look poor without the mulch and turn to mud whenit rains. Rain water drainage is an issue in some areas and would pool outside doors and in yards, the basements were very damp and musty even for Ohio. Units get two parking spaces, there are a limited number of carports that can be rented. Visitor parking is at the far ends of the units so perpendicular parking on the street is common in the evening. The management company charges a $400.00 additional deposit for pets plus $40/month, the policies for dogs are unevenly applied. The area isn't particularly quiet and U-Hauls are a common sight. 15-20 years ago this area was probably fantastic.

Maybe you should get the facts before you complain. The pool was closed because after they had it ready for the start of summer, some ignorant people vandalized it. They worked tirelessly to repaint it, unclog everything that had rocks in it etc. The workout room also was closed due to some idiot vandalizing that. It wasnt anything management could control but worked hard to fix for their residents. Did you bother to ask why things were out of commission for a few weeks? Maybe you should next time. Yes Im a resident too.
