I'd start by saying overall, Woodside Terrace is a descent place to live in Canton. It's varied price range brings in a wide group of people - and the property is mostly well maintained and has a descent selection of apartments to choose from.

Going through the laundry list of things you should know - the parking there is fine and never full, noise is acceptable given the average age group, grounds are pretty well kept even though there's quite a bit of dog poop. I'll touch on safety later. Make sure to check out all the building and apartment options, they are very different from another. The maintenance isn't bad, although they really just patch up the problems and not really fix them.

My major problem was with the management - who completely lost my trust by the time I left there. Upon moving in, we were told it was a very safe and secure property and they never had any break ins or robberies. Really' Because I was robbed within the first 6 months of living there, as well as my neighbor. Not saying it occurs to everyone living there, but being the first break in I've ever had, it made us feel very unsafe and insecure - especially since it happened in the middle of the day and no one in the complex claimed to see or hear anything.

After that, we talked to management and they offered us a few options to move into a different apartment. We always liked the townhouses, and we were told by the management with what occurred to us they would be happy to give us a discount if it'd make us happier tenants. I take responsibility for not checking, but what she offered us happened to be the deal they were running at the time - not a deal she was offering to us with what had happened. They played us for fools after we had just been robbed, which was very shady.

The final straw came from getting a job out of the city and had to terminate my lease early. The lease there is pretty nuts, if you break out of it you have to pay it in full - and you will only get some of that money back if someone else moves into that same apartment or townhouse before your lease would have ended. We didn't have much choice since it was a career job, so we had to move and pay the lease in full (thousands of dollars). But I was appalled when we came back to visit friends a few months later, to drive by our old townhouse to see that people were living there and we weren't told by management. We had to call them up and make a case out of it before anything went through before we got a check worth 6 months of rent back months later. There's no excuse for this, and I'm convinced they would have kept it secret from us as long as they could if we didn't see it for ourselves.

These situations make me look back on Woodside Terrace poorly. For it's price range, it's much better overall compared to other options in Canton - but I can't recommend it based on management alone.

As the manager of this community,I take great offense to these false accusations! We would never tell someone that any property, private or business is completely secure. No one can offer that. It is our policy, if you breech a lease, you must pay the balance of the lease by payments or in full, until the apartment is re rented. If indeed it was rerented, we would refund any rent that was paid to the former tenant.I think this is someone who is unhappy about signing a legal binding contract and wants us to just release them without being responsible for their actions. We are a very reputable business and follow our companies policy and procedures, which all tenants sign and date upon move in.Our maintenace people are trained and certified in heating, cooling, plumbing and remodeling. We have many, many satisfied residents who will tell you that. Our community is one of the top three in the area and we will continue to strive to offer the best prices and units that any community can ask to be.
