Good Location, nice people, but pricey

My wife and I moved into these apartments back in October 2008. We were very happy with the grounds and how well kept they were when we first visited the community. First impressions mean a lot and we both were very happy with our visit.
Overall the location is very close to the major freeways, yet still tucked back behind a residential community offering privacy and a sense of security. Our experience with the staff has been very good. We haven't had any major issues concerning our apartment since moving in. Work orders are carried out in very decent time (within a few days) and this is the FIRST complex we have been a part of where staff WORK ON WEEKENDS!!!! That is a MAJOR plus when you need assistance with something.
We rent a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which is a good size for two of us and our 2 cats. The master room has a walk-in closet and the guest room has a sizable closet as well and includes a nice storage closet. The kitchen is a bit small, but the utility room offers a fantastic location for a washer/dryer (not provided).
Noise levels are VERY low which is a plus for us. It seems like the majority of the fellow leasers are working professionals, so you don't have to worry about the college-aged kids blasting their music at the early hours of the morning.
Biggest overall downside, the cost. While the apartments are nice, they are very pricey. We had to pay extra per cat, PLUS had to pay extra for being on the ground floor in lieu of a 2nd floor apartment. In addition, the apartments cover NO cost. You pay electricity (all your appliances), plus water and sewer. Almost every single complex we have lived in or searched for pays for water and sewer, but not here. Overall it's not a big cost, but it does add up at the end of the month.
Lastly, while high ceilings definitely open up the space, something as small as changing a lightbulb becomes a nightmare, or worse when the battery dies in a smoke detector at 2:30am and you have to climb on a chair, on your toes using just your fingertips to remove the detector before your eardrums explode! Not fun.
Overall they are very, very nice apartments but unfortunately they're priced as such. I would deem these apartments for those that do not want to own a home. Instead, they're professionals that would rather have an apartment. Taking that into account they may be too pricey for most people, but they do offer a wonderful sense of security and community feel. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
