This is not an extension to your dorm life in college but it is a pretty reasonble place. My personal experience has been pretty good. When my garbage disposal boke in the first week they were there to fix it (effectively) the next afternoon. they set up my DSL quickly and I have had few problems with it to date (and the problems which did arise were ISP related).
The comments of a previous reviewer about parking are correct but what is not mentioned is that $55/month is very cheap for covered scured parking in downtown Cincy. One could park outside about 3 blocks away for $39 but the convenience of parking on site is quite nice. Also, I often return home in the afternoon and although the lot is often quite full I have never to date had a problem finding a spot. In 5 months not once has there failed to be an open parking spot.
I really haven't had any problems here at all. As for "cool" people, well I gues I'm not one but exactly why would you look to a downtown loft-apt complex for a frat-house'
My kitchen appliances are reasonable. They all work - no they are not brand new (with the exception of the dishwasher) but for $515 per month I'm not complaining and they aren't *that* old.
I do think you need to see the specific apartment you are considering. They are different. I think some are over-priced while others are a good deal. The studio that I rent is large for a studio (this is not one of those, sit on the toilet, cook breakfast and answer the front door all at the same time kind of studios. Full kitchen, bi-level, full bath, lots of closet space, room for my queen bad computer, small dinette set, TV and stereo along with 4 chairs and space to move.
I suppose if price is not an issue then you can find better but if price is a concern and you wish to be in downtown then this is a great choice I think. I happen to work across the river and my commut is trivial. Highway access is excellent.
The neighborhood is on the rise. Finally a grocery store of sorts is opening in the complex (silvergaldes) and a mediteranian joint with late friday/saturday hours is now open on the block. Campanellos is here for good Italian food and Plum St cafe is a lot of fun many nights.
