Years at this apartment: 2006-01-01 - 2008-01-01
When i first moved to Ashley Woods in 2006, yeah you can say ghetto! The people they rented out to really showed no respect for the property and the neighbors. When i renewed my lease I was told that I would recieve a $200 deposit towards my rent. When I later asked about it, I was told they applied it towards my rent??(Shouldnt I still have a 200 dollar credit if it was applied towards my rent? I didn't sweat the issue I just let it go. Im now going on my 3rd year with ashley woods and now under new management I see that there trying to step there game up and I have a better name for themselves. They now have added new rules and regulations, and are enforcing them through the hamilton county sheriffs patrol, which is fine but i belive a lot of racial profiling is involved. Ive witnessed innocent people pulled over for no specific reason, only because they may have an attractive car, or them running tags of residents of the apartment complex.Having the sheriff patrol the residence is ok, but it is a bit intimidating and they could lose out on customers/residents that live there or people who may be interested. People want to enjoy themselves without being paranoid that they will get harrassed by the police. If ashley woods wants to prevent a lot things from happening, then maybe they should do an extensive screening of residents before they move them in. They should enforce that section 8 residents who dont pay rent participate in some type of program/school volunteer or something like CMHA does, because i witness a lot of females that dont do nothing but collect checks, let men lay up and don't do nothing to better themselves or there children. They should most definetly take that dirty, sand park out or remove the sand because it is infested with cats, spiders etc that come from the woods that are directly behind it.I know that the new manager is improving but there's a long way to go, and the some strategies that are being used are not always good, especially the police thing...thats too intimidating and uncomfortable to see police lights every night you come home from work. They should also update each apartment after renewing there lease, meaning carpet, walls, plumbing, etc should all be updated because we are giving them our service and our money.
