i HATE it!

i have lived here for about 8 months and absolutely HATE it. i was very impressed when i was looking for apartments in the clifton area and found bellevue house. it came off as being spotless compared to the other properties in the clifton vicinity, the owner and manager were very polite and nice, and the apartment was a decent size. now that i have lived here, i have found out what hell is like. i have had numerous problems with several fixtures that are recurring. the maintenence is almost impossible to get a hold of. actually, you can get a hold of maintenance, but it may be another 2 weeks until your problem is considered. the problems i was experiencing were not blow off for 2-4 weeks problems either! i have horrible problems with ants and other insects regardless of the quarterly sprayings. i also have horrible mold issues throughout the apartment. it is now winter and the heat seems to be barely on during the day and turned off at night. the "brand new" windows and screen door are not air tight, so even if the heat or air conditioning (which is a horribly old window unit) is on, it excapes outside due to the lack of airtightness. The windows and windowsills always have condensation on them encouraging the mold even more. The cabinets look brand new in most of the apartments, but after a month of gentle use they started falling off of the hinges, along with the hinges actually falling out of the pressboard themselves. not only is the actual apartment itself crappy, but the owner said that he plowed the street when it snowed. It snowed on a Sunday around 6 am and the street and parking lots were not plowed until 1 pm making me late for work. If they put salt down during the recent ice and snow storm, I did not see any difference between where there was salt and where there wasn't. my final complaint consists of WARNING anyone who is moving into an apartment with a roommate, there is only ONE parking space per apartment regardless of how many residents are in the apartment. It is great for the one person's car with the parking pass, but for the other two, parking is seriously obsolete in the vicinity. I have had to park two streets away on many occasions to simply get home after work at night.
bellevue comes off as being a GREAT find, but i can not wait to be out of my lease here. i read the ratings on this site when i was looking for an apartment and saw that most apartments had many negative ratings and thought people were just being ridiculous. PLEASE acknowledge mine! you will save yourself a lot of time and money!

I am a little confused by the air conditioning comment. When I lived at Bellevue all apartments were outfitted with wall units. Window units were not allowed.

In response to the air conditioning comment. I also lived there recently. The AC units in the walls are actually the same thing as AC units that fit in windows, and equally as crappy.
