I lived here for 3 months in 2007. When I walked in the place on my first day, my departure date was clearly written on the lease agreement and agreed upon by the management. Even though I gave a good 120 days notice of my departure the day I walked in, this wasnt satisfactory for their 60-day notice requirement. I was then notified 2 months after I left that I owed $435 for the half of December which I did not live there. I called the management that day and they told me it was a mix-up and that they would call me if there were any problems. I did not receive a call. 2 months after that (one week ago), I received a letter in the mail from a collections agency notifying me that a balance of $436.50 was due to them immediately or they would report it on my credit history.
Apparently the management didn't feel it was necessary to notify me that I owed money and decided to pass it on to a collections agency' This is simply ridiculous. The whole thing makes me sick and I cannot in good conscience recommend this apartment to anyone. I'm really confused about the fact that I owed money in the first place because the management willingly pro-rated my rent for December when I told them I was leaving on the 15th, and then went back on their decision 2 months later' This whole thing is a mess... save yourself the headache.
