I currently live here and am looking to move. I have lived here 6 years and there has been no upkeep done since the first year I was here --before the current company took ownership. Maintenance will do as little as possible to complete repairs. The outsides of the buildings look shabby, the carpet in the common areas is dirty and worn. Forget ever getting new paint or carpet cleaning unless you pay for it yourself.

The bushes around my apartment are dead. The top soil was washed away years ago and every time it rains, it floods around the landscaping. When it snows, the snow removal actually piles up snow BEHIND the cars, leaving the tenants to dig out their own cars. Sidewalks are not cleared in a timely fashion either.

There are a couple of helpful, friendly people in the office, but turnover is high enough that you don't get to know anyone.

Too bad you feel that way, iknow first hand they do what is in their power to make Deercross a wonderful community. The maintenance works very hard, and as far as turn over, people do have to move up to higher positions, not only that but when you are in property investment it's to make money in the long run which means you fix them up and sell just like house. So be a little grateful for a community that's trying to make unreasonable people like you happy and if your not happy BUY A HOUSE!

I lived there too back around 2002 and I can tell you this. You are not wrong in your complaints. The things that went on around there were a joke in more ways than one. As far as buying a house, some people don't want to buy a house but prefer to live in an apartment that has good maintenance so that they don't have to do the maintenance themselves. The person who said Buy a house is probably one of the maintenance people on hand who were lazy workers.
