Four Towers

This review is in reference to Four Towers I Apartments on Four Towers Dr off of Ferguson Rd. The landscaping is poor and not well maintained. The concrete parking lots, sidewalks and steps are crumbling and in bad need of repair. Balcony railings are rusty with paint chipping off. The common areas are not kept clean and are often littered with trash. The windows in the hallways are filthy with cobwebs filled with dead insects in the high areas. The windows in the laundry rooms have no screens which means no ventilation unless you wish to let the bugs in. In the winter the sidewalks are poorly maintained and the snow is cleared only a single shovel width and not the entire sidewalk and are often icy and unsafe! The rooms are spacious with nice double walk-in closets in the master bedroom. However, the stove, dishwasher and flooring in the kitchen is outdated. Baseboards and trim have been painted so many times(the same color as the walls, dull and boring) that the paint is chipping. Heat is included and is a hot water baseboard style system which provides nice even, quiet heat, however, they don't turn it on til mid October so you may have some chilly nights in the early fall. The central air conditioning system is another story. It is old and prone to breakdowns. Every year at the beginning of Summer the maintenance department is overwhelmed with service requests for AC problems. My advice, check yours in early May while the weather is still cool just to see if it is working. The AC system is also highly inefficient due to an aged system, leaky, old, single pane, non-insulated windows and perhaps poorly insulated walls and roof. Summer 2009 my AC ran non-stop for 2 weeks straight just trying to keep up and my t-stat is set at 78 while I'm at work and 72 at night. This makes for an expensive electric bill.
