I was VERY excited to be moving here. It was going to be expensive, but we thought it was going to be worth it b/c of all of the amenities that were offered and we were told how nice everyone was. We were told that most of the tenants were young professionals (like us) and there were monthly social activities to encourage & help everyone to get to know one another....how fun. I mean, we didn't want a frat house/dorm/party atmosphere so this sounded great.
So, one of our very first nights there, our next door neighbor came to our door at 10pm. Without introducing herself or saying hello, she informed us that we were being too loud and she was trying to sleep. She was only wearing a t-shirt and NO PANTS! There were three people at our apartment and we were watching TV & relaxing b/c we had just ran a race. We were apologetic, but we didn't understand why she was complaining. This was just the beginning of the demise.... We noticed that the neighbors on our other side were elderly & walked with a walker. These sure weren't the young professionals we were looking for.
There were numerous times that we received complaints....one time there was a live band playing down by the fountain & we got a complaint. The security guards would come to our door at 4am and wake us up b/c of a noise complaint...and we were just sleeping. One weekend nite, some guys who lived on the floor below us were YELLING up to a girl "Britney" who lived on the floor above us.....guess who got the blame for this' The next day, we got a letter that we had to be out in a week. We hired a lawyer b/c this isnt right and the lawyer found out that the rental office had a couple that had expressed interest in moving from their apartment to our apartment. How convenient that it was right at the same time when they wanted us out of the apartment.
Overall...the leasing office promised us exactly the opposite of what we received. We were targeted from day one b/c we were young. So, if you want to live by a weird lady that roams the halls with no pants on...go for it... The walls are so thin, you WILL hear your neighbors and they WILL hear you. Just hope that they are complaining about the right apartment and maybe they'll put pants on before knocking on your door.
And the "socal activities" don't exist.
Overall........this place sucks.

How is this their fault? So you had a crazy neighbor. Everyone has one at some time in their lives. But that has nothing to do with the building and service. I have had great service and the people around me are all young professionals, like me. You sound like you are playing the victim here and blew this way out of proportion. Your lawyer making the claim that he did sounds slimy and made-up. How can he prove something like this?! Did he see their rental records? I highly doubt it. Be accountable for your own actions and be honest with yourself here about what kind of neighbor you are.
