On the surface building is attractive but sound and security are a problem. The interior walls are PAPER THIN. Most apartments are not that great in terms of noise but these are the WORST by far. It is due to the thick concrete outer walls and inner walls simply built to ohio code minimums.

The staff is as helpful as they can be but they do not have a lot to work with in terms of infrastructure. The security is a complete illusion. They actually expect residents to police the entrance doors here. Great amenities for $1200 a month!!!

I should mention that the same company manages the Gramercy across the street and they have a security desk in the lobby so residents do not have to challenge strangers. I should also mention that management LIVES in the Gramercy so there is an obvious bias.

Building has great potential but it is not worth the extra cash until the interior walls are improved and security actually exists.

I am not really sure where your info is coming from because I live in Shillito and it is by far, the most attractive, friendly, hospitable place I have ever lived. The building is beautiful, dating back to 1877. Shillito building???s exterior design and iron-skeleton structure were known to Chicago architect William LeBaron Jenney (1832-1907), who was connected to a Cincinnati family and visited the city while designing Chicago???s 1879 First Leiter Building, often considered the first "Chicago School" high-rise commercial structure. It has a large proportion of windows and 24-foot-wide spans, as well as a restored octagonal interior atrium. Most of the apartments have gorgeous hardwood floors and the amenities are unheard of for the price you pay to rent a unit. You have access to two fitness rooms, a huge indoor facility including basketball courts, pool, ping pong, corn hole, a putting green with a driving net, a community club room with giant plasma televisions, yoga classes, tanning beds. Plus, there is a rooftop pool on top of the Gramercy Apartments across the street (also Towne Properties) that all residents have access to with grills, lawn space, and gardens. Are you seriously complaining about the place? You will always have noise in an apartment building but I have never had a noise issue here other than rare faint footsteps. The whole building is key card entry with security on duty from 6PM to 6AM with cameras watching every building. Plus, they have security escorts (which I have never needed) available 24 hours. This is better security than most apartment communities I have seen. You sound a bit bitter so I think there is something else going on here that is affecting your judgement.
