customer service doesn't match what you pay

The amount you pay, you would expect the staff's service to atleast be adequate. I have had apts half the price who were more attentive and helpful. They said I had to move in, on a Monday, 1 week after the first. the move interfered with work, and made it difficult with moving out of my last apt. After complaining to upper management, they said they would give me a special, which ended up being the special they promised me in the first place.
They would sometimes not fix something until I asked 3 times, my appliances looked like they were from the early 80's, which oven, fridge, and dishwasher all needed maintenance w/ in that time. A metal label on the 20 year old dishwasher started peeling off, which they charged me for when I moved out.
My shower head, I believe was rusting on the inside, because orange build-up would accumulate every two weeks in the tub. I did get charged for the orange staining.
After 1 year, I grudgingly renewed my lease, only due to being so busy. For my renewed contract, it went from having the first 5 days of the month, rent was due with no change in pay, to my rent going up $30 if paid by the 1st. If paid on the 2nd of the month, it was $60 more to what my rate was the prior year.
2 of the review entries listed here on this website, made me question if they were written by Mallard Lake or Village Green Staff. One person wrote how friendly the tenants were. Entrance to the apartments were through your garage, and there were no sidewalks on the property. It led to the fact that you would never see your neighbors. Another person wrote how they missed the clubhouse. It was true that there was a workout facility on the downstairs, but the clubhouse itself was not open for tenant use. It is only open during office hours, which at that time is for staff use.
They would have cookies and drinks for people who would come in, interested in renting.
They are very aggresive sales people who try to get you to put yourself down for their waiting lists and to sign a lease. What I have learned though living there nearly 2 years is that they have a very high turn over rate. Most of the people I had gotten to know moved there for jobs being new to the area, but Mallard Lakes doesn't really give you initiatives to stay.
