I have lived in McCauly for 10 years, and since the takeover by Connors Group and Heartlessland Water Co. in April 2008, the community is no longer that. We are now considered customers and not neighbors. My water charges have doubled since April and includes a $6.00 BILLING FEE. They CHARGE me to be a customer'''!!! I have cut back on my water consumption to offset their fees; however, that doesn't matter. They charge by the sq footage and not usage. Meaning, if another "customer" living here leaves a faucet running for a month, I'M PAYING FOR IT. I can only assume Connors Group gets some sort of kick-back from Heartlessland.
Maintenance workers no longer live on the property, and the trash compactor piles up with garbage on the weekends. Breezeways and bottom floor patios are not blown clean after yard maintenance.
Connors Group needs to develop a program to train their employees in customer service. They are the wave of the future; unfriendly, unpersonal and not EVEN customer service oriented. Mercenary companies with the motto, "we don't care about people; we only care about making money!"
I have had no response to my concerns from Connors or Heartlessland. The only cure for me is to move when my lease is up. Unfortunately, that's months away. Even so, I'm filing complaints with Better Business Bureau and the City of Sharonville.

I agree with everything you've said in this review. I helped my girlfriend move in under the old ownership and things were great. I've since moved in myself and felt like I've got screwed over and over by the new owners. The recent addition of a bearded-guy-in-a-frog-suit advertising makes me feel like my rent should be lowered by at least $100 per month. So much for a quiet and respectable community. I'm only 22, I'm not some old fogy. I just know a cheap and desperate plea for business when I see it. Sad.

Oh yeah, frog-guy really is a class act. "Free rent" for new tenants. What about taking care of the ones that have been here for years? Why not try and keep them satisfied? I've still had no response from Better Business Bureau nor City of Sharonville. I have, however, had someone in the "water" business tell me in no way, shape or form should a company be making money off Greater Cincinnati Waterworks by either raising the cost or averaging the cost by square footage of the apts. Yet, I can't get anyone to stand up about it. If they don't fix the security light at the trash dump, people will continue their 3 AM dumpings of furniture and who-knows-what-else. My search for a new home is moving forward!

I agree 100%. I lived there for two years under the old management, but as soon as the new management came on board I started looking elsewhere. The water, the trash, the unfriendly and dumb staff. They called me numerous times about whether or not I was moving, including twice after I had already given a written 30 day notice. They also said our rent was late because they lost the check. My roommate and I put our check in the same envelope and drop it off in the rent drop box every month. One day I get a call that our rent is considered late because they got my check, but not my roommate's. How does that happen when they are in the same envelope. I am glad I got out of there.
