I have lived at the Ravenswood for a year and I've been very satisfied. It is an older building, but I think the apartments are charming. I have been in other units, though, that are not quite as nice as ours. Our kitchen was just recently redone. Other reviews mention cockroaches, but, I have never personally seen a cockroach. I love the location of the apartment, as it is close to shopping, bars, interstate, etc. Other reviews also mention it being cold in the winter, but I found it to be very warm!! The management does control whether the heat is on or off, but you are able to adjust the radiator in each room. I turn my radiator up all the way and make my room cozy, while my roommate did not like to be hot and would turn hers completely off, so it worked well for everyone. Management has just recently switched over and the new management seems to be rather attentive. They have been here every day, working on various things. They just installed new locks on the common doors. I was always pleased with the previous management as well--we called several times and they were always attentive to our needs and sent someone right away. Also, for coin laundry, I feel that our washer and dryers work very well. I have lived at complexes with coin laundry in the past and I feel that they didn't wash clothes that well or that the dryer cost $1.00, but you had to start it four times to actually get your clothes dry. The washers here actually wash clothes and the dryer dries clothes completely in one cycle.

The cockroach reveiw was mine. In my opinion, Paradrome was unattentive, uncooperative, and did not take care of problems, promptly or otherwise. Hope the new company works out better. One thing I will give you is that this building or series of buildings is so big that there is bound to be a lot of variation in the condition of apartments and I recall some buildings being better cared for than others. Maybe I just got "lucky" and got one of the poorly kept up versions. The area is great, but with the number of problems I experienced there (at least under previous management), the apartment was overpriced and I got a lot more than I bargained for.
