I'll give you a little background first:

My fraternity decided to move into Stratford Heights in 2005 when they first opened. They were given a few customization options, like furniture style. The rent for a double (shared) room was 365.00, it is now 565.00 just 4 years later. That is a 65% increase. A single room was 425.00, it is now 600.00. That is a 71% increase. Meanwhile they are on their second or third management company.

Firstly, I would say kudos to the Maintenance staff. They are really nice guys. Their supervisor John is rude though. A little story we have is that he approved us to paint our basement. We did, came in and he said it looked like a bunch of gorillas did it. Wow.

Secondly, the management is a bunch of greedy rude inconsiderate people. I recently had an issue of confusion with my rent, they provided me with a copy of my lease to refer to, even though the answer was not clearly in there. Thanks.

Third, the rooms are tiny. Given, furniture is provided (desk, dressers, small unfomfortable bed, however, I have about 18 sq feet of open space in my room just enough to pull my mattress down off the box springs so I can sleep decent for a night.

Fourth, utilities are included! However, the cable is terrible (HD reception flickers and studders and channels change all the time not allowing for reception). The internet runs through UCIT and causes a lot of heartache, especially when you will go for up to a month (my friend went a month I went 2 weeks) without internet. You can't control the thermostat in your room, so hopefully your son/daughter is an engineer to figure out a way to change the room temperature without dealing with the HVAC system.

Fifth, fines. 50 dollar fine if you are caught opening your window. This along with other fines that your student can accumulate for things they don't even do! Such as damages, trash etc.

In our situation, we were moved to another house with 5 days notice (good thing I was supposed to work 40 hours in those 5 days huh') for no good reason. The last weekend we were there the walls in the stairwell connecting our house and the house next to us were severly damaged, and our group was blamed for it even though there are students living in said building.

Oh yeah, we had a ton of priceless items stolen from us and a cabinet busted while we lived there.

PS: If you support underage drinking, send your kids to the bar there, they don't ID.

This review is 100% accurate, i would rather live in a dorm than at Stratford Heights, worst living experience i ever had. And yes they do not ID thats why people drink there.
