I've lived at Summit View for a year now, and I have only good things to say about it.
The main attraction, of course, is the view, a spectacular panorama of the city's skyline and, depending on how high up you are, a curve in the Ohio River.
The other residents are, for the most part, private, respectable people, with a nice blend of young professionals and retired people. Few if any children.
Maintenance is good and quick. I only had to use it twice, but once was on a Sunday morning and the on-site maintenance guy was still there within fifteen minutes.
The walls, ceilings, and floors are concrete, which means that you hear very, very little from other units. It's nice, quiet, and private.
You have the choice to rent a reserved, covered parking space for a reasonable fee.
A previous reviewer complained of the smell from the sewage plant. There is a water treatment plant clearly visible down the hill, and it does mar the view a bit, but in a year of living here, I have only once smelled it at all, on a hot and hazy day, and even then it wasn't strong or severe. I disagree with the earlier reviewer about the plant being a problem here.
The most common model of one-bedroom apartment is very small, and will feel cramped unless you come with only a few belongings. I got rid of everything I didn't really use and felt totally comfortable in it. But if you're looking at one-bedrooms and have a lot of stuff, you might feel a bit crowded.
The gym and pools aren't huge, but they are nice and well-maintained, and not crowded at all.
But the biggest testimonial is the Big Board in the sales office. Summit View recently decided to convert about half of its units, mostly the larger ones, to condos. They were offered first to current residents, who are buying so many of them that there won't be too many left for the general public. I met several people who had rented apartments here for twenty years or more before buying. I bought one myself, and am looking forward to living here for quite a few years.
