my husband and i lived here for our first apartment in a 3rd floor 1 bedroom. we had mice. i called and she said "i can have (the maintenance guy) come lay a trap for you." i said "no thanks i've already done that." my friend in the next building had 6 mice - one of which died in their couch that they found a week later b/c they smelled it. they did nothing. i was thinking, hire a freakin exterminator! but nope.

but seriously, i was paying less than $350 (at that time) for rent. so what do you expect' you get what you pay for. if you want cheap and don't care about stuff like that, knock yourself out. i'm too prissy.
