Don't Move Here

My wife and I rented one of the smaller two bedrooms when she was pregnant with our first son. It was nice at first and we lived on the second floor. There are 'patrol' people who walk around the property and try to defer crime, I guess. Well our first problem was that our balcony faced the parking lot and these people would walk by and stare into our windows. It was freaky and it made both of us uncomfortable to be in our living room. The next problem was the other tenants in our building. The people who shared the wall with us were disgustingly filthy. Within days of them moving in, we had roaches. Delhi Pest Control came and 'sprayed' (if that's what you want to call what they did) and it didn't help at all. They kept getting worse and all the manager offered us was roach motels. Another problem we had was people would continuously park in our spot and force us to park .1 miles from our apartment in the freezing cold with a newborn. The manager wouldn't do anything about this because it wasn't in the building that she used for her office. We finally had it by this point and told her we were moving out if nothing was done, by now our year lease was up. She told us that we could move to a bigger two bedroom for only $10 more per month, which was good for us. Well when the move finally happened she up'ed the rent even more and told us that we had to sign a new lease. I was mad but at this point my wife was pregnant again. The apartment we moved to was ground level and had no screens in the windows and we told her of this. Here we are almost two years later and we still have no screens. Again about two months ago people moved into the apartment that shared the wall with us and we got roaches again. This is still an ongoing battle. Someone also had spilled milk in the parking lot and it got on other people's cars. This was blamed on us for some reason and resulted in a very heated argument between us and the manager. Also, my identity was stolen around the end of the month and all of our money was taken out of our account. We informed her of this and the fact that we were unable to pay our rent on time and she said that was fine. We even showed her statements from the bank stating the status of our investigation on our account along with police reports just for verification. She seemed fine with it. About three days later we had a notice on our door demanding our rent. This beyond aggravated me. As of now we still live here, no screens and minor roach problem.

My advice is to avoid this place like the plague. The manager is the most rude human being on the planet and doesn't treat anyone under 40 years old with any respect. She had problems with our previous maintenance man and fired him for no reason and then begged him to come back a month later. She has anger issues and doesn't care about the quality of life here.
