Beautiful apt, lousy experiences.

I love my apartment. Its quiet, sound-proof walls (on my side of the complex anyway-the back) let me be as loud as i want. The place is huge, clean, and has plenty of character. I hate hardwood floors so the carpeting is nice, the kitchen is great though the dishwasher makes dishes dirtier than they were before i put them in (it was brand new), and the bathroom is luxurious.
That's it though. I leave my apartment and things go downhill. I live on the top floor so i have to park outside. In the winter they had a 30% snow-removal record (for over a grand a month, i expect it to be gone when i get outside), there are footprints in the cement in the hallway, the other residents range from pretty nice to snobby, standoffish, and often downright rude.
Then there's the office staff. they're very pretty. blond girls and a dark haired guy. but there's not much upstairs with them. they can be very nice, but they gossip like highschool girls. The place has very questionable PR skills. they treat the residents like dorm residents, putting berating memos in our mailboxes and threatening to take away our clubhouse privilages (granted they've had problems with their fresh-out-of-college clientel treating the place like a dirty bar--another complaint). i'll be leaving at the end of my lease this year. overall a dissatisfying experience for the amount (and it is HUGE for cincinnati, but average for bigger cities) that i'm paying.
The location is great. i might not be right next to hyde park square, but i'd rather be a few blocks away from yuppy hell. it is not rundown by any means, contrary to what my fellow negative-rater claims. it's a great location.
So in summary, gorgeous apartment, nice location, very poor service and professionalism, sluggish response to real complaints, a mixture of few nice and many crappy neighbors, and an overall negative experience for me. i'd definitely be staying if the rent was lower. that's the bottom line for me. too much money, just not worth it anymore.
