I have lived here since 2001 and have delt with many things that I shouldn't have had to deal with. I pay almost $1000/month so one would think that I wouldn't have to beg and threaten in order to get things done.
I am a very patient person but I also have my limits. The staff at the front office probably cringes when I call because by the time I call them, I have already dealt with maintenance for too long and am extremely angry.
As far as the Section 8 rumors, I did ask the front office about it and they told me that they were untrue. I think they legally have to disclose that information, don't they' The people moving in aren't very well mannered, tend to make a lot of noise, and seem to believe that they are the only ones living here.
I am lucky to have great neighbors in my building. Unfortunately, I am not as lucky with the neighbors in the buildings nearby. They are noisy and filthy. One actually had trash sitting on her front porch for four days before she found the energy to throw it out!
I had to rent a space in the car port just so that I could have a parking space. When the new tenants moved in, they decided to park in front of our building instead of their own. They also come with tons of friends who come and go all of the time, making it impossible for those of us that live here to have a parking space. There is a guy who doesn't live here that works on cars in our parking lot (isn't that illegal').....in MY parking space. Maybe I should charge him rent.
And why is it that people don't watch their children when they are outside' Their idea of watching them includes screaming at them from inside the apartment. (If you are too lazy to run after your kids, then don't have them!) We are definitely in Hartwell!
I decided that when my lease is up, I am moving out of here - regardless of any positive changes that the new owners make. A few months ago, I was in my car about to pull out on Compton when I heard people yelling. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a man and woman fighting by a car that was in the middle of the road. The man was beating her up and I saw FIVE cars go around them. Each car slowed and looked but NO ONE did anything. I did a u-turn and followed them out while calling the police. I saw the police arrest him and I think an ambulence had to be called for her. The point of this is not that there was a man beating up a woman....the point is that my neighbors didn't do anything. They watched and then went on their way. I can't live with people like that, it scares me.
The class of people that keeps moving in has declined. I don't know if Towne Properties can make a difference or not.
Since Towne Properties bought us, the grounds have been mowed religiously once a week. But that is the only change. I still have to cut my own bushes and pull my own weeds. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
