My experience with Towne Properties was wonderful. Maintenance was very helpful and the office staff was professional and pleasant. There seem to be some very angry posters here. When Karam first took over, they sent letters advising of water surcharges. When I called the office I was told by two rude people that my lease can be changed at any time as long as I get a 30 day notice. People were told they would not get their deposits back unless they signed a new lease with Karam (that defeats the purpose). I had to then call a lawyer and ultimately Howard Ain. Two days later (coincidentally) I get a phone call from the leasing office apologizing for the confusion and notifying me that my lease will in fact be honored. The two leasing agents that were asked to stay volunteered to leave after learning first hand of this company's practices. I also find it interesting that by 'ghetto', as another poster put it, you mean black people. Unfortunately in this day in age, the 'ghetto' people aren't going anywhere. Get used to it!

No, I don't think they meant ghetto in a black people sense. I think it was more along the lines that the place was becoming completely rundown. Regardless, of the management- it is just an old, HUGE property, that is just going to take lots, and lots of time to fix up.
