I have lived here a very short while not even a month. Management sucks, to put it at its best. I have had work ordres in for my unit prior to moving in and nothing has been resolved yet. On top of that while maintenance has been in my apt money out of my dresser drawers have came up missing. And the office wont even acknowledge that complaint. I am soooooo wishing I never moved here. Make sure that if you put in a maintenance request, please take all your personal belongings of value with you at all times. You never know when they may decide to come and "fix" it, so even if it takes months dont hide it just dont leave it. If you do, your out of luck. In my case $600. Oh and by the way, my unit is still not fixed, how charming is that.

How can I get out of the lease? I have set up an appointment with a lawyer to seek legal assistance. I already feel like this place is unbearable.

The first thing I hope you did, was to file a police report. That would at least legitimze and document your complaint! I never allow anyone in my apartment without my being at home!...And if someone comes in when I'm not at home, or without a 24 hour notice, if it is not an emergency, I will also file a report with the police! Just to further document and cover yourself, I would also write to the Management Office and to Karam Companies, by "Registered" Mail, informing them of ALL of the particulars! I'm a firm believer in the "written" word. Also send a copy of the letter, to a lawyer or to the Attorney General. Sense Karam Companies took over, I have written them at least 2, three page letters clearly expressing my concerns and issues, and there are many. I have been here since 1996, and until Karam Companies took over, it was a wonderful place to live! I think Karam did not do their homework, and had no clue about how much work and money this size complex would require, now they find themselves in a bind. They got rid of staff and maintenance, which partically accounts for the situation they find themselves in. They have also begun to rent to "anyone", which will be the demise of this "once beautiful" place. Thoroughly read, through your lease once again, with a magnifying glass, to see if management has violated their agreement, which would allow you to get out of your lease. Also, make sure that your lease does not say "they will automatically keep $75.00 from your security deposit, when you move out! It is against the law! If it is, get an amendment to your lease. Even if you have signed it, it is still unenforceable, and can be removed! Good Luck!!!

I have lived here since 1994 and I have seen the best and now potentially the worst. Everyone who has problems should document, call the better business bureau and even get the media involved to shine a light on this once beautiful place that has gone down so far. Hopefully Karam will sell very soon!
