I moved in to Brookstone in 2007 when it was owned by Windsor Communities but as of 1/01/08 a new management company has taken over. They are the most inconsiderate, overly-strict, nasty group of people I've ever met and they are on a total power trip! I turned in my rent less than 24 hours late (due to the fact that I was out of town at a funeral) and they called 3 days later saying I had to pay a $75 late fee! I've been here 14 months and have NEVER paid my rent late. The same day they called to tell me that, they also left a "notice to leave the premises form" on my door and tried to threaten me by saying they'd evict me if I didn't pay my late fee. Aren't they sympathetic' Do not live here. It was fun when it was owned by Windsor but now there are no more monthly parties or pool parties - the younger crowd is moving out and there's a man wearing a gingerbread costume standing in the front trying to recruit new tenants. It went from upscale and trendy to desperate and confined - you'll feel like you're in a prison. They treat you like you're scum instead of a valued customer (especially at the ridiculously HIGH rent you'll be paying) - I'm moving out as soon as I possibly can. Luckily, I only renewed my lease for 6 months (which cost me an extra $50/month), don't sell your soul to the devil. Live in the Drexel instead!!!!

I cannot agree more with the above posting!! I also moved to Brookstone in 2007 when it was owned by Windsor. I couldn't have been happier with Windsor as a management company -- they went above and beyond to make the facility a great place to live. However, the new and current management company (The Connor Group) is the complete opposite. This company is completely generic, rude and unwilling to compromise. I also turned my rent in a day late (I was still under the lease from the prior owner, had until the 5th to turn my rent in) and was also charged a $75 late fee. Not only did I have to pay that, I also received papers from the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts for eviction!!! Talk about a little quick to pull the trigger!! I then had to pay $300 for a "lawyer's fee" for The Connor Group. I am kicking myself for signing a lease with this company (as of mid-April), especially since you can't break the lease! Don't move here -- there are moving trucks every weekend here, as people are rushing to get out. No more pool parties, resident activities, or welcoming staff. The staff is unprofessional and rude and the property is going downhill fast!!! This is no longer THE Brookstone Village.

Heres a thought why dont you pay your rent on time!!!!! Its not the managements fault they are just doing their jobs. I have lived at Brookstone for over a year and I too just resigned with The Connor Group and they are doing the best they can with the situation they have been thrown into. The office staff is always very friendly and personable. I enjoy living at Brookstone and I think that things have improved in many ways since the new management took over!

Doing the best with the situation they have been thrown into??? If they were a respectable and smart company they would have been aware of what they were getting into when they PURCHASED this property. They should hold the same standards that the prior company had and if anything go above and beyond that. Then MAYBE they would not have moving trucks littering the parking lot each weekend. I have lived at Brookstone for 3 Years and luckily had already planned to get out of my lease this year. I am embarrassed to have Mr.Gingerbread man on the corner trying to entice people to come rent. (Is this really a viable marketing plan??) I know I wouldn't turn that corner. It's sad how downhill this community has gone. And the fact they don't clean the bathrooms and gym is DISGUSTING. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN AND STAY AWAY BEFORE YOU REGRET IT.

Wow !!! I am truly overwhelmed, after reading the above reviews. I have also lived here for 3years, and am not only disappointed but disgusted by the smug attitudes of the current office staff. Once management changed hands, everything 'has'gone downhill. The breezeways are dirty and nasty (I have requested cleaning several times,to no avail), the stairways sometimes smell like cat urine, the office hours have been reduced drastically, causing a major inconvenience for anyone who must work long hours, in order to pay this high rent. There have been many occasions when I have tried to call the office, however the phone continually rings, with no one answering and no machine option. --- I am moving out very soon, and will certainly share my story with any/everyone I meet. ---- As they say... It takes years to develop a meaningful relationship, but seconds to ruin one.("They have definitely ruined this one"). This location served its purpose, and it's unfortunate that new renters will think that the horrible service of the present staff is a continuation of the old. --- At least I know that it's not personal... They seem to treat many other people with the same disrespect and disregard. I suggest 'everyone' carefully research other properties before signing a lease with this company. (Not to mention, I have spoken with other unhappy residents, and thought they were being 'overly dramatic' when they shared their stories -- until it happened to me.) Keep that in mind!
