Overpriced, awful complex

We have been living in our apartment for over a year. We signed a new lease on our apartment in May because we thought our problems were resolved with water leaks in our apartment, but that hasn't been the case. The owner of the complex, Infinity Management, and Community Manager ------------- are unwilling to move us to another apartment without a rent increase, which we feel is unacceptable. We have had problems with water leaking in our apartment since we moved in May 2006. Water would leak from the ceiling in our main bathroom at least once per month. Repair personnel would come to inspect the issue, try to recreate it, and would leave without fixing anything. It wasn't until this past spring that two repairs were made. We had to call off work every time a leak occurred because we would have to clean up and wait for personnel to come in to our apartment. We have also had to deal with several other water leaks in our apartment. The air conditioner above us leaked water, water has backed up outside our door, our air conditioner drain has backed up, and our toilet has broken, flooding the bathroom floor. Throughout the multitude of problems we've had with water leaks in our apartment, we have never seen a single preventative measure taken to protect our apartment from mold. We are running tests to see whether unhealthy mold is growing in our apartment. We have expressed our concern with the possibility of mold in our apartment with management, and nothing has been done. If the tests come back to show that there is mold present in our home, we wish to be fully reimbursed for the costs associated with testing. We have asked our Community Manager to move us to a different apartment, but they informed us that they could not do it without increasing our rent by $100 per month. This is unacceptable. We have been patient and tried to work with the management of our apartment complex, but they are unwilling. They do not listen to us, and keep repeating the same things when we try to ask why we should be forced to pay more to live in an apartment that does not have the problems that ours has. We have been trying to get an answer out of them since June, and we weren't given an answer until Sept. 1. We have never been late on rent, or caused any problems within our apartment complex community. We feel as though the treatment we've received by the management of Woods of Turpin has been extremely unfair to us.
