Hmmm...where to start' When I first looked at the apartments here, I thought this place was great. The location on Lake Rd. is good, you're right across the street from the lake and Bradstreet's Landing. I-90 is a short distance away, as well as Huntington Beach...but that is the only good thing I can say about this place. Several months after moving in, everything started to go down hill. The parking is horrible. The garages cost an extra $15 per month and you're not even guaranteed to get a garage near the building you live in and if you don't have a garage, good luck trying to find a parking space at night on the week days that isn't in the back of the complex. The maintenance sucks. The hot water tank in my building was out for about four days before they finally replaced it. Maintenance always does a half ass attempt to fix problems at best. I should say they don't even "fix" things, more like they "temporarily cover the problem" until something just completely goes. Like the time I had have the knobs on my kithen sink replaced as they just crumbled in my hands. The maintenance guy just grabbed knobs from a vacant apartment to replace and the damn thing leaks now. They did the same thing in my bathroom and they didn't even put the knob on correctly (again, the water leaks). Water was leaking above my shower, so they came and put in a new shower head which was leaking and apparently causing the problem, but they never fixed the ceiling. The cabinet doors in both bathrooms were falling apart (I ended up fixing them myself as no one ever came to even look at them for me after I told the apartment manager.) The laundry facilities are awful. The dryer on my floor is constantly broken and the laundry room itself always seems to smell like cat litter. There are a lot of families that live in the complex and all their kids are annoying and loud all the time and no one seems to care. There seems to be a ton of people that all work there and know eachother, but none of them ever seem to do anything besides sit out in the front buildings, smoking while staring at people who drive by. The pool is not "olympic sized" as this crappy community states on websites. The work out room which is supposed to be "state of the art" is unbearable in the summer time as the apartment manager refuses to turn on the air just so he can save a buck. The machines in the fitness center are not maintenanced or maintained in any way which makes me wonder what the hell my ten dollars a month for using it was going towards, other than the manager's pocket and stomach as he is obviously very well fed. The walls are paper thin in the buildings, you can hear EVERYTHING. They raise your rent by $20 a year when you re-sign a lease. I still live here and am moving out next year as soon as my lease is done. I should have moved out last year, but moving can be such a hassle so I didn't. Now I'm stuck in Cheapcliffe Place Apartments for another 6 months. Because they are so cheap, I am scared how much of my deposit I will actually get back. I DO NOT in any way recommend to ANYONE to move here. If you are considering, stop right now and move on to the next listing because this place is awful, awful, awful.
