I moved here from the Victoria Plaza Apts in North Olmsted. I only moved to save money (VP - $600/mo vs BG - $372/mo). I don't need much space or a dishwasher, so the savings was worth the smaller apt and handwashing my dishes.
Two weeks after moving in, someone robbed my storage unit (broke the lock off). My gas bill is about 3 times what it was at VP. This is mainly due to very drafty windows and doors (I watch my curtains billow from the breeze of my closed window). No ants yet, but I do kill about 3 spiders each day. Complex is noisy. The idiot in #8 likes to yell "hey!" every few minutes and sing horribly from 2-3 in the morning, which means I get very little sleep. My shower takes about 3-4 minutes to get warm enough to get in. Building doors don't close, and I am fearful to order anything that might be left on the doorstop. Very draconian terms on the lease - can't leave early even if somebody willing to take your lease, can't leave apartment vacant more than 4 days, have to give 2 months written notice to vacate or lease renews for a full year!
I've lived in better Section 8 housing than this complex. In all fairness, the rent is very low, and the complex at least looks nicer than most of the properties within a mile or two (crappy part of town). So, if you own an electric blanket, keep nothing of value in the storage area and are a sound sleeper, you might find the savings worthwhile. Otherwise, look to nicer areas of town. Extra costs may be worth it.
