My wife and I recently bought a home, and moved from Fairhill Towers where we lived for the last two years. As I read the reviews, it seems that some people have had positive experiences, some have had negative experiences, and perhaps some experiences are fictitious. I would like to take a moment to share our experience. It wasn't all bad as some people claim. It was not a bad place to live. At the same time it was not without problems. The problems' For us, one of the biggest was snow removal. The doorways would be salted, but once you were in the parking lot areas--it wasn't good. It's hard driving (or walking) on black ice. Other problems' More could have been done from a security standpoint. My vehicle was broken into, and you would hear of such problems occasionally from other tenants. Now, this isn't uncommon in this area--but more could be done from a preventative standpoint. As for the good' It was mostly good. People complain about bug problems, but we never saw any. I think maybe that has to do with lifestyle. Since Montlack has owned the building, they have done a lot in terms of upgrades. Improvements in the common areas, as well as in the suites. The building has a nice pool. The gym isn't overly impressive, but there are 5 or 6 machines, and you can get a workout. Montlack brought in a good manager---which was welcome because the previous management couple was very inept and subject to substance abuse. The current manager gets things done. Anyway, there is pro and con, but overall I'd come back if I had to, or recommend the building to friends.
