This is the first apartment that I ever rented, and I apparently screwed up big time. The landlord is an absolute -------, as mentioned many times on here. He owns lots of other properties in Cleveland Heights, which I presume should also be avoided simply because of him. I seriously have hundreds of stories about his behavior, and I only made it 8 months in the building.

The apartment was quiet, a big plus for me. Beyond this I can't really think of anything good to say about it. The electricity was a constant problem, as the unit was only wired to two fuses; forget about using the microwave and anything else. I had to specifically buy a low wattage toaster. Ridiculous.

Landlord insisted on two shower curtains (one on each side), and when I didn't have two ready the day I moved in proceeded to harass me with phone calls and unscheduled visits despite my assurances that I would take care of the problem. He threatened to charge me for the damage to the apartment beneath me (the imaginary damage that is, since he admitted that nothing had happened).

When I moved out, he kept half of my deposit for various made-up reasons. I was frankly so happy to get out of there that I didn't press him for it. I imagine this is exactly what everyone feels about the place.

The funniest part about the apartment is that during the tour I never noticed that the floors were sloped to a huge degree. Seriously, things would roll towards the middle of the room the slant was so great.
