I lived here for two years. It was my first place out of college and i was fooled.
It wasnt all bad so I will start with the good aspects of Boulevard view and why i lived there. It is close to case and UH convenient if you are a student or work there, and i did feel safe at my apartment the entire time i lived there. The apartment itself is really cute, older style but somewhat updated. The tenants in the building were mostly young professionals or grad students so it was pretty quiet (but i did get a few noise complaints for opening and shutting my drawers in my bedroom at night because the walls are so thin and you can hear everything)
Now here are my complaints...
1)The landlord Alan was very pleasant and accommodating while i was was looking at the apartment. He made a verbal agreement with me while i was signing the lease and as soon as i moved in he was unable to follow through with his promise.
2)I had a leak in my living room for 7 months that he never fixed. I called several times and no one ever came to fix it. I finally gave up.
3) the windows were terrible! i had the storm windows down, used caulk and the plastic window sealer and the plastic actually blew off my windows on multiple occasions. one night the wind blew a glass filled with water off my ledge. i was always freezing and my heating bills were up to $250 in the winter time.
4) when i moved in there was guest parking and Alan slowly took it away but didn't tell the tenets. i found out there was no more guest parking only because i parked there to unload groceries and he had called a tow truck and was about to tow my car.
5) whoever he hired to plow by the garage did a terrible job, i would get stuck under the garage door up to 10 minutes spinning my tires in the snow. the garage is very narrow and the only way to get out in the winter is to floor it...you will scratch your car!
