Miserable Experience

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
This place has gone through several changes in management since we have moved in almost 2 years ago. We were completely deceived and lied to by the leasing agent who first showed up this place; we didn't know she was just here for the summer! Now we can't keep track of who's in charge around here. Some lady seems to be in charge, but no one ever informed us of this change. Another inconvience is that there's no one living on-site
Maintenance is a real pain- last summer they kept entering without our permission for non-emergencies! This winter has been awful with ice and snow removal. I have fallen a couple times on the outdoor stairwell because of the ice. There has been an awful problem with the front door- one time the lock was just missing, one time we were locked IN the apartment building because the doorknob wouldn't turn, and another time they locked out the mailman so we didn't get mail for four days!
Noise is also a problem. The apartments are completely hardwood flooring and we can hear everything from upstairs and downstairs. The doors to the hallway are extremely cheap and thin- you can hear EVERYTHING from the hallway.
Parking has been a pain since we moved in. One unassigned spot in the gravel lot is always difficult to find. The other spot is in a cramed garage that exits onto the hill of Mayfield Road. You are supposed to use the mirrors to exit, but they actually don't help at all- especially when they're covered with tree braches or snow. Sometimes it's absolutely terrifying to just get out of the garage!
The "luxurious" living of this place is awful. The sundeck is nothing but a roof overlooking the cemetary and Mayfield Road. The fitness room has some new equipment, but unless you're into extreme body building, the equipment won't do much for you. (And you also have to pay an additional $50 key deposit to use the room!) People are extremely rude and unfriendly here too.
Overall, we can't wait to move out, and we want to warn everyone about this place. Definately look at the apartments down the street if you want to live around here!
