I recently moved out of another building owned by the same awful landlord, and I 100% agree with the other posting. These buildings are HORRIBLY maintained, with an arrogant landlord who is condescending, RUDE, and thinks he owns Cleveland. If you complain, he will say you are the only one complaining, when speaking to neighbors, they ALL have the same complaints. He has a crew who enters the apartment WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION, and WITHOUT EVEN INFORMING YOU. He DOES NOT PLOW THE SNOW, and will make excuses as to why it was not done. He is more like a slum lord than a landlord. He WON'T RETURN YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT AND WILL MAKE UP LIES AS TO DAMAGES- SO WHEN YOU WRITE HIM A CHECK- CONSIDER IT NONREFUNDED, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY- DO NOT, REPEAT- DO NOT FALL FOR HIS TALK. He's all talk and NO ACTION except for crappy action. The laundry is filthy, the steps are dangerous- HAVE SOLID ICE ON THEM THROUGHOUT THE WINTER MONTHS- someone's car recently got totalled by his work truck, and he didn't take responsibility for it.

I am a former Fairmount renter and my experience was significantly different from some of the other reviews I have read about this apartment complex and the landlord. I believe that the apartment complex is centrally located to many great landmarks in the Cleveland area..ie(UH, Cleveland Clinic, Little Italy, Case Western). I lived there for 3 years and enjoyed it thoroughly. Each apartment was renovated with beautiful wood floors, kitchens, and bathrooms. The landlord, Ed, was very timely and responsive to all my requests. He allowed us to extend our contract by a month when we were looking to buy a home. Our entire safety deposit was returned to us because we left the apartment in the same condition as when we first moved in. The only time people entered my apartment was when we were moving out and I was notified every time that the apartment was going to be shown.
