My husband is going to be interning at Jones Day this summer from May 20th to Aug. 4th. The firm set up a deal with Reserve Square since it is such a short period of time, but I have to know...is it really that bad' All these reviews are making me so nervous! I hate cockroaches and don't even want to deal with crackheads! I have never lived in a city before either, so I don't know if this is "normal" city stuff or if this is extreme. Someone please, help me out...tell me something good!
P.S.--My ratings are not correct, as I have not been there yet.

I lived in the West Tower and never saw a roach. Unfortunately the smell is bad on most floors (due to the compactors), and management are not friendly. Maintenance came out to repair stuff for me, but their "fixes" seldomly lasted.

As for the crack heads, yes they're there around the greyhound station. I would not go out at night alone, but my husband and I used to walk out to dinner/------- games several evenings, and enjoyed being downtown. It's also fun walking to Tower City and taking the RTA out to the West Side Market during the day (I did that on my own, it's safe). I would not recommend going out alone at night, but then that's the rule in any city.

My recommendation would be to see if the company could find other accomodation for you. If you have no other option, then my philosophy is expect nothing and you won't be dissapointed. Also, I think many of the reviewers on this site (including myself) are giving low reviews because we experienced the change in management from Equity to K&D.

Eitherway, just spend as much time as possible outdoors. Cleveland is a cool place to live, and one should not bother staying at Reserve Square if you've got markets, rock and roll hall of fame, parks, restaurants and plays on your doorstep.

Life's all about how you take it on and what you make of it.

Cleveland is a great place to live; but don't move here.
