At first, my wife and I applied for a lease in person, but were told we would be called when we were accepted. We were called several days later and instructed to meet with the manager at the leasing office later in the week. We arrived for our appointment, only to find out that the office was closed, with no explaination offered as to why. We called back the next day to see what had happened and to schedule another appointment, but were told that someone was in the office all day and there was no reason for us to have not spoken to anyone. After a breif arguement, we were told to come back the following day. We should have known then this place was going to be a handful of problems. When we first went to take a look at the yet unfinished building, we picked a loft unit with a spiral stair on the third floor. Everything was going well, we were given a very detailed explaniation of work that was being completed, and also of work that was to be completed soon. Even though the price range was a little high, we decided that this seemed like a really great place to live. Among many other various things, we were told that the walls had been 'sound-proofed', the courtyards and outdoor area in the middle of the building were to be finished next month, and that the parking area outdoors was well lit and featured security cameras for extra safety. (The security cameras were very important to us because the parking garage was unfinished, so we were going to be parked outside in a not so frienly neighborhood to begin with.) We paid our security deposit (which was one of the few good points about this place at only $300!), moved in and realized that everything we were sold on when considering the place was a lie! The walls were most definately NOT soundproof, with what seemed to be as much soundproofing as a sheet of paper. Most of the work that was going on in the building around our move in date was left unfinished. No courtyards, no picnic area, no grills, walls were left unpainted, the garbage facilities went unmaintained. After a severe water problem in the "Laundry Room" (which BTW consisted of only 3 washers and 3 dryers for the whole building to use), the plywood subfloor in the Gymnasium was left to rot soaking in water for almost a month, stinking up the whole basement like mold before being replaced. During this whole time, the laundry room was unusable. The high lights on the ceiling fans in our loft apartment burned out and went unchanged until we finally moved out. It was near impossible to get anyone to fix anything in that place! We thought things couldn't get much worse after the water incident, but we were wrong. Because of poor lighting and the lack of someone actually TURNING ON and setting up the security cameras in the parking lot, our car was broken into, and the CD player was ripped from the console! We complained to the management who had no video of the incident, because they claimed they were 'having difficulty with the equipment that night'. They reccomended to us that we park in the garage after its completion, adding an extra $50 a month to our payment.
After all of this hassle (plus more not mentioned here), we decided that the best option for us was to not continue with our 2 year lease agreement. Basically, don't move into this place just because you like the loft apartment look, like we did. Ask A LOT of questions when speaking with management, and make sure you get sraight answers about "future" improvements.

I agree with this article 100%. I am so glad you got out of this mess. The conditions has become worse and people are moving out. I think this building will soon all be section 8. This building should have had a gate built all around it. The lofts are nice, but what you have to deal with and the price you have to pay is not worth it I am still stuck here, but will be locating soon.
