Oh, where to begin. This apartment is a hole. My fiance and I got a late start at looking for apartments before we moved to Columbus, and this was the closest place we could find to OSU. That was the only good thing about the place.

Because there were two of us, and we had two cats, our rent increased by $50 per month. And we had to buy a parking pass to park in the lot, which cost $250, and there were still times when we couldn't get a parking space in the lot. People without passes used to park in our lot constantly, with no repercussions, but when my cousin visited us, his car was towed in less than an hour. The apartment was tiny, and we had the larger corner unit. The heating is horrible. You could hold your hand up 6 feet from the windows and feel the draft. We sealed off the windows during the winter, but with the ONE HEATING REGISTER in the apartment, it was impossible to keep it warm, AND we ended up owing like $200 extra in heat for the year. Plus the 2 inch gap below the door didn't help matters either.

The doors to the building would constantly break, so they could not be opened from the outside. Eventually, people started just propping the doors open, so there were bums sleeping in the hall. Absolutely disgusting. The washers and dryers on site were constantly broken, so we had to go to the laundromat anyway. There is nothing resembling soundproofing, and you could hear people 3-4 apartments down using their shower.

The construction is horrible. There were only about 5 outlets in the whole place, and none in the bathroom. We had to run an extension cord into the bathroom. I used to work in construction, and the electrical work is definitely not up to code. The corners of the place, especially in the bathroom, were filled with mold. The ceiling in the shower was just a piece of plywood, and used to leak mold out of it. The paint used to fall off of the ceiling, and when we moved in they warned us that there might be lead in the paint, so this place probably took 5 years off of my life. The counter is located directly in front of the door, so there is only about a two foot wide space in which to enter.

So all in all, DO NOT live here. Do what it takes to come up with a little extra cash and find a better place. This building should be condemned.
