I moved into Albany Club in 2003. I had no problems w/ Triangle. Then it was sold to Crawford Communities, and that's where my problems came into play. My apartment was broken into April of 2005. My neighbor's door was also kicked in, and the place was ransacked. I lost just a computer and printer b/c they got scared and ran when the neighbor came home. They wouldn't let me out of the lease after that incident. My lease was up Feb 05,2006. I had trouble paying my final rent b/c they said the Credit card reader is down the last week of every month for accounting purposes...of course they don't put that in your final letter, and they only accept CC payment or a MO. When is everyone's lease usually up' 1st of the month, so they are trying to pay the last week. I got the run around there. I'm an accountant, and ironically have never heard of a business doing this. Today is April 26, 2006. I still have yet to see my deposit back. I have called and called and get the run around. I was dealing w/ a manager named Candi, and she passed me along to Amy Cane(614-335-2020) who does the deposit returns. I left her a message and she is suppose to return it...we'll see. I'm 100% unhappy with my experience here. I was happy at first, but now I'm furious w/ Crawford. I would suggest avoiding this place altogether.

Do you think home owners can get out of their mortgage if they get broken into?

MOST DEFINITELY YES!!!!!!! I'VE HAD MY CAR VANDALISED 3x's AT THE HEATHERMOOR APARTMENTS WITHIN A PERIOD OF 8 WEEKS! I HAVE ONLY LIVED HER FOR 11! I'M GETTING MY LEASE SHORTENED.I ALSO LIVED AT ALBANY CLUB WHEN TRIANGLE WAS IN OWNERSHIP. WHEN CRAWFORD TOOK OVER - IT WAS A NIGHTMARE! WHEN I MOVED IN, THE APARTMENT SMELLED OF SEWER GASES ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE KITCHEN DRAWER HARDWARE WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED. EVERTIME YOU WOULD CLOSE ANY DRAWER, THEY WOULD FALL INSIDE.MAITENANCE CAME OUT 4x's, AND COULD NOT GET IT CORRECTED.THE SEWER SMELL WOULD ALWAY'S COME BACK WITIN DAYS AFTER THEY WERE THERE.WHEN I LEFT, THEY HAD THE NERVE TO BILL ME FOR THE DRAWERS AND ON TOP OF IT - THEY TOOK PICTURES OF BOTH BATHROOM TOILETS WITH CIGARETTE BUTS IN THEM AND BILLED ME FOR CLEANING!!!!!!! I DON'T EVEN SMOKE!!!!!!!!! I HAVE ASTHMA!!!!!!!! I CONTACTED THE BBB AND HEARD NOTHING. I ALSO CONTACTED TRIANGLE TO LOOK INTO CRAWFORD FOR ME AND HEARD NOTHING!!!!
