Atrocious

Where to begin... when we were first going through apartments they, of course, show you the most beautiful and well-structured apartment they have (probably the only one). After promising us a certain apartment on a certain day, we show up on move-in day, with new furniture being delivered, and the apartment isn't ready nor is it assigned to us. After an hour of them pulling their fingers out of their arses they give us a number and tell us to wander through it. It was shoddy, the windowsills were filthy, the carpet was dirty, the linoleum was coming up, the walls were splotchily painted and the kitchen cupboards were falling apart; and on top of that it's ground floor (not what we requested, which gives you half-length windows) and faces Riverside Dr. (nice and noisy).
Our first week in the apartment our dishwasher floods the kitchen and the fridge fills our crisper drawers with about a 1/2inch of water a day. It took 6 weeks for them to finally understand they needed replaced, not "repaired" (not that they did much repairing). It takes at least 3 maintenance slips to have them sent to your apartment anyhow. On the bright side, they refunded our water bill for the month we didn't have a usable dishwasher (hurray.. the water bill is much higher than it should be anyhow [33$ for 2 people... come on])
When the "new management" arrived they attempted to find loopholes to add charges where they could. Our first months rent was free (we signed a 13 month lease... shoot me please) and we had a 250$ voucher because they screwed up on our move-in day. They attempted to tell me that they, "could choose not to honor these if they wanted to be A**holes". An actual quotation from a manager. It took approximately 2-3 months of constant notices saying we still owed or they found a mistake, etc. before they had everything cleared up.
Overall, the office staff is condescending while outwardly appearing helpful and kind. I honestly believe that they could care less about who rents their apartments so long as some sucker is trapped in a lease. I cannot wait for my lease to expire (6 months and counting) so I can exit as quickly as possible.
But, I must mention parking quickly: Should you, for any reason, come home after about 7-8PM you can expect to park on the opposite side of the property from your actual apartments. Parking is ridiculous. There aren't nearly enough spaces.
