Don't forget the salt...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009
For those of you reading these reviews, remember to take everything (good and bad) with a grain of salt. I have been living at Bel Air Ct for almost 4 years and have not had too many problems. The only problems I've had so far relate to a tenant that is extremely noisy upstairs at very early hours of the morning. This is not the landlord's fault, of course, but they have been very helpful with trying to get her to be quieter. It is clear that they are "on my side" with this problem, and they are doing what they can to rectify the situation.
As for the responses you'll read on this site, bear in mind that there are two "phases" of apartments here - I and II. I live in a phase II apartment which means that it is newly rennovated and quite nice. The people living in this part of the complex are generally older, professional, or families. I even found out that there were/are a number of nuns living in this area - how's that for quiet'!:) I have walked around to the phase I sections of the complex, and I would agree that they are not as nice. If you move here, I would definitely recommend the phase II apartments!
Also bear in mind that a lot of people only think to write comments when they are angry. Therefore you won't likely see as many good comments. I'm here to share a few good experiences I've had at Bel Air Ct. 1) They have an employers discount, which saved me 8% on my rent every month simply because my employer was on their list. 2) They have pool parties 1-2 times every summer where they serve free food and have games/prizes - great for the community. 3) There is a newsletter that comes around every month or so (used to be more frequent) that tells of free breakfasts, neighborhood watch meetings, and has general news and tips for the lesees. 4) Whenever I've had maintenance issues (which is hardly ever in the phase II apts), there is someone there within 24-48 hours to fix the problem - and it is actually fixed! 5) On my way out to work this morning, I was greeted by an employee at the entrance who gave me a muffin and orange juice:) 6) The staff at the office are friendly and helpful as much as they should be. I've never had a problem with the staff in the nearly four years I've been there. 7) The rent is acceptable, and many of the apartments even have a full-sized washer/dryer in them.
I'm not saying this is the most fantastic place you could ever rent, but it's not bad. As a single woman I feel generally safe and secure. As far as apartment living goes, you have to make compromises, however I didn't have to compromise too much to live here.
