i lived at grant-oak during my college years at CCAD. i miss it so much. i really felt at home there.

i had a studio apt which was VERY small and dark, but very cozy. perfect for busy student life. i loved the extra wardrobe/vanity room off the bathroom. there was plenty of closet space and built in bookshelves.
living right next door to the library was priceless.

being that the apartments are right in the midst of downtown...yeah, there were plenty of panhandlers and weird harrassing homeless-type dudes. i once had a peeping-tom at my window, and my car was broken into. the hospital helicopters are loud and there is a fair amount of traffic noise. but that is just COMES WITH THE TERRITORY WHEN YOU LIVE IN A DOWNTOWN URBAN LANDSCAPE.

however, i still felt comfortable and safe there thanks to the locked restricted building entrances, multitude of student peers living around me, and the caring and concerned staff.

the management and maintenance team were friendly, attentive, and able professionals. the sidewalks were kept salted and clear in the wintertime. the washers and dryers are nice and new.

i was sad to leave grant-oak.
