I went and viewed an apartment, specifically telling the leasing specialist that I wanted a first floor apartment. She showed me a first floor, and per the ad I had seen, told her I had seen it for $560. She never said anything. I paid the $100 application fee, only to receive an email AFTER my check cleared stating that my rent would be $580. Apparently, there's an extra $20 for first floor apartments because of the little patio. I asked for my money back, and was refunded $65. This might not have been a big deal, if I hadn't been lied to. I didn't want to wait around and find out what surprises they had in store for me AFTER I signed the lease!
