I've never been to Columbus when my job transfered me here. I had 2 weeks to look for an apartment. I choose Hickory Creek because their website looked nice, I couldn't find any bad reviews, and when I called them they told me it was a safe neighborhood. They lied!

I got here, and I immediately noticed mold growing in their indoor pool/hottub. Their weight equipment was old and need repairs. Then I got to my apartment, and it looked nice I must admit. They did a good job painting and cleaning.

A month went by and it rained, a lot. I found out I had a leak. I called and called and submited numerous maintenance requests, and then 8, yes 8, months later, the big and now moldy hole in my ceiling was repaired. This was only after I threatened to call the health department and put my rent into escrow. I also had a busted pipe in the bathroom that took 2 weeks to fix because they didn't believe me.

And you can forget about them clearing the parking lots and sidewalks when it snows. They only cleared a path in the office parking lot, and that's it. They didn't even put down salt!

Safe nieghtborhood' I think not. 2 months after I moved in 14 cars got broken into on the same night. The police never even came. They did put up a few extra lights, and had a security man come by every once in a great while, but I still never felt safe. Other tenants informed me that it happened quite frequently. And according to statistics that I got from the police department, Hickory Creek gets their cars and apartments broken into more times than any other complex in that district.

I don't recommend it, at all. The price might sound good, but it's a horrible place to live.
