Seemingly this large apartment complex is a good place to live. However, this is not really the case. Don't get me wrong, my experience has been good overall but here are some things you should really watch out for.
- Cars get broken into and vandalized ALL THE TIME! If you value your car then look somewhere else.
- 60 written notice prior to moving out. Ok, so i've been informed this is normal but why do you need to give 60 days written notice when you are moving out at the end of your lease term' Seems to me that they put that in just so that you have to pay 2 more months rent while they just collect the money.
- Dog ---- Everywhere!!! I think most people move here because it's pet friendly but no one picks up after their dogs!!

30 days is standard, 60 days is practically a scam

I have worked for an apartment community in the past and from what I have found out is that MOST apartment places require 60 days, some 30, some 45, & some 90. The lease that you sign definately has that wording about your notice in it--(I just checked mine) Plus, I received a letter 2 weeks ago (My renewal letter) and it has it in there as well. I have lived here for over 3 years now and I have not had one problem. I encourage any incoming or outgoing resident to read your paperwork so that there are no surprises.

You guys are right, 60 days notice does seem to be 'normal' to people around here. I'm from Chicago, a lease is a lease, you move out when the lease ends and you don't need to give notice that you are moving out when your lease expires, it's just assumed. Also, the big problem i have with the Hickory Creek lease is that it is AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED at a MONTH-TO-MONTH RATE, which is about 30% higher.
