The first issue we have with the Island Club,is parking. Not completely sure that it's the Island Clubs fault...Do people living here realize what a parking space is and what is not'! Many a time I have come home to find plenty of parking spaces open(albeit far from your front door) and cars parked nose to tail at the curb behind the row of parking spaces. It is hard if not impossible sometimes to get a car out of the spaces when there are cars parked behind you. Walking is healthy people, it will not kill you to park further from your door! Unfortunately when this problem was brought to the managments attention they said they would take care of it. All most a year later nothing has been done. The managment would do well to reconsider parking and make sure that every apartment is in fact using only it's two allowed spaces.
I will say that the maintenance team is always quick to repair anything we've needed fixed and they are always friendly. Now the management team is also polite and thorough about apartment business. Even when problems occured with rent they were willing to work with us, though late fees were a little excessive.
The neighborhood is fairly quiet, there are geese and ducks,yes they will poop, but I wouldn't call them a nuisance. We are top of the food chain so I think we can manage not to step in it,if not you should live elseware. It is nice to step out on your patio and look over a pond with animals rather than see a busy road. Remember it is people infringing on wildlife's habitat constantly, not the other way around.
I agree with the statement on the sirens,you do hear them a lot. Honestly I would rather hear them and know they are close when needed rather than far away.
The neighbors for the most part are friendly. Although our second complaint would be that the walls are thin and the people living on top floors seem to forget they live above others and are constanlty dropping things and stomping around.
Would I resign my lease' Yes, compared to many apartments I've visited and many reviews I've read this place seems very nice. However if and when I find a better place to rent or own I would not hesitate to leave. If you are looking to rent at an above average price with good management and maintenance this will do nicely for your first apartment.
