First let me say that there are some very negative reviews about this complex. Having lived there for over a year, I can honestly say most all of them are very very true. The units are very hard to heat and cool. The 'heat pump' heaters have to be the worse purchase decision ever made for an apartment complex. Also, the person who wrote about the smoke was also right. My apartment did smell like smoke 90% of the time and I am single and do not smoke. Also, snow removal is terrible. I understand the layout of the community makes it hard to plow, but even in big storms, we are not only the last people to get a plow, but the road leading up to Orleans get just as ignored. Whoever complained about the dog poop was also right. I guess I was the only person to clean up after my dog. I stepped in it more than once! The person who said they lied about the 24 hour fitness center was telling the truth also. The fitness center is in the barn. I liked the layout of it but it is NOT 24 hours. The business center is 24 hours, but in the Charleston property, not on the Orleans property. THe person who complained about the parking. Well depending on where you live, he is very right. Parking was irritating on the weekends. Not to be rude, but there were some people who could not parallel park to save their lives!!!
Also, upon moving out, be super careful! Depending on the flavor of the week property manager (it changed over 3 times in the year I was living there!!!) They charged me for quite a few little things that I honestly thought were normal wear and tear! I am not a messy person (OCD actually) and this is the first time in over 8 years and 5 different apartments in 2 different states that I have not gotten my security deposit back!!
Please be careful when choosing this place. I read this web site but ingored the negative comments because I figured, with some of the 'ignorant' sounding comments, the people complaining were just wanting to complain. Upon living here I have learned that I really cannot disagree with many of the negative comments are being stated.
