I lived at River Oaks for nearly a year and although the actual apartments are pretty nice the staff and management is awful!!! When I first moved into to River Oaks the management company seemed to be taking care of the premises and it's residents but since the old company sold and the management changed it's gone to crap! There is dog poop all over the property because no one enforces the rules of the community or cleans up the grounds. The new owners Avalon Oaks LLC refuse to put any money into the upkeep of the apartments or the community, they are ridiculously cheap and non responsive. It took them about 5 trys to fix my screen door, and I had ripped screens from a storm for 5 months before anyone fixed them. My apartment had a really bad mold problem which was dismissed by the maintnece staff as nothing even though it was causing me severe allergy reactions. And since all the women in the office quit the men running the place have just made it even worse, the guy who works in the office is so rude and uninformed, apparently no one trained him how to do his job because half the time he doens't have the answers to simple questions, doesn't answer the phones or return phone calls and forgets to do things he said he would take care of. The previous women who worked in the office were usually pleasent and always made sure things ran smoothly and were taken care of at least. I have several friends whom live River Oaks and feel the same way because they have had similar problems or worse. Maybe if the current company sells and an owner who really knows something about running an apartment community takes over it might be worth checking out but as long as it's under the Avalon Oaks management team I wouldn't consider it any further.

The screen door's from the storm fell under insurance criteria and we had to go thru there proceedures to fix them. If this person would of called the office they would of been told that. We sent out a community 1st notice about the dog waste and got yelled at by residents. So even when we try to do something they do not like it. The staff is professionally trained this person is probally used to the old management who would do everything that a resident wanted even if it fell under fair housing rules and regs. We do everything we can in accordance with the lease agreement which this person like all residents have to sign this person probally did not read there lease. Furthermore we resealed the blacktop and replaced the fitness equipment so yes we have upgraded and spent money. If this person had actual mold it would of been taken care of accordingly. Please come see for yourself this is a Beautiful community to call home & for the area it is very resondbly priced.
