A horrible experience

I lived at River Oaks apartments for a year with my boyfriend and it was an extremely negative experience from start to finish, including for several months after we moved out. The property is poorly managed by a rude person. Our move in date was screwed up by the rental office and we had to take an apartment "as is" because we had already planned on moving out of our old apartments. We had to clean everything and there were several minor things wrong with the apartment that we just dealt with. We were told the apartment would at least be painted after moving in, but it never was, even after repeated attempts to get this done. Most of our few maintenance requests were never taken care of throughout the year. One time we were given an eviction notice in error because someone "accidentally shredded" one of our checks. Even after we have moved out, we had an issues regarding our deposit.
My interactions with the property manager, ----, have been awful. He is rude and unprofessional. Our friends that moved in there around the same time as us had very similar experiences; they were promised an apartment which they then did not receive, etc.
I have lived at several other complexes in Columbus, and this was by far the worst experience. I would not recommend it to anyone!

This person was not happy about there move-out charges nor where they happy they did not receive a letter informing them of there charges. They did not receive said letter because they did not provide us with a forwarding address. The manager is allways rude when they do not give the residents everything they want.

in response to RiverOaks reply, the residents aren't the trouble-makers. in general, people don't need to interact with the office if the apartments are managed well. ----, you can still turn a profit by being nice and treating your residents with the most basic respect.

In response to River Oaks... I was honestly considering moving in to your apartment complex again. I lived there about 4 years ago and everything was great. However, after reading your response to your tenants review, I will no longer be moving in or even considering it. Not because of what you said, but because you said anything at all. Your response was very unprofessional. You have major spelling errors as well and that, to me, says enough.
