I love Runaway Bay

I have lived here since 2005 and love it.
I have never had a problem with the apartment or the office staff.
I live in one of the two story apartments and I have heard from people in the three story buildings that noise is a bigger issue there.
I have read the complaints about the gates and that is a big pain.
But the problem comes not from the gates or the staffs' response to the gate break-downs.
The gates are often rammed into by residents with their cars if they don't wait for the gates to open.
Or by visitors that don't realize they have to stop before the gates for a few seconds before the gates will open.
I have seen on several occasions where people who live here hit the gates to open them.
The parking was better when the passes where required.
Otherwise, it is a wonderful place.

I think this is a great place. I think the office staff is very courteous and attentive. Maintenance is FANTASTIC. For every problem I have had, which have all been very minor, they have fixed in less than 24 hours.
I agree about those gates. They are useless and they should be removed. They are just swinging doors attached to nothing. What good is a door without a wall? Anyone who wanted to, could walk or drive right around them. I too have seen people ram into them with their cars.
I live on the 2nd floor of a 3-story building. I don't hear my downstairs neighbors at all, but the girl upstairs - I hear every footfall. And I can hear her headboard banging on the wall at night when her boyfriend is in town. Very annoying. I wish people who live in apartments would realize this (because it is common, from what I am told) and just move their beds a few inches away from the wall.
Every place has pros and cons. For location, pet policy, office staff, maintenance staff... you can't beat it.
Lots of college-age kids, but this is a great place to live if you work downtown.
